Good Pub
The Plymouth Inn in Okehampton, Devon is a pub that I would recommend to anyone in the world. It can be found on the right hand side of the road as you begin to exit Okehampton for Tavistock.
Here you can buy magnificent real ales, from a constantly changing selection for as little as £1.85p a pint. It is a good old English pub - smart without being pretentious and the crack ( for my American readers crack is an Irish idiom for gossip not the stuff you stick up your hooter) is tremendous. You will always be welcomed by all.
What else can I say, there are free newspapers to read, always a test of a very superior pub and the grub is fantastic. The two of us had the Plymouth Breakfast and a huge bacon and mushroom bap for £7. They also do steaks, fishfood etc. and if you don't want to eat in the bar there is a restuarant out the back.
There is a children's room and a lovely old garden with benches out the back, through an archway. Don't take my word for it go there and THE LONDON NIGHT shown on the poster looks good. They have theme nights like this almost every week.
They have a web site at theplymouthinn.org but it is a bit out of date 'cos the maid round the corner has got to do something on her CD.
Cheers
Gordon
P.S. Having a nice time in Africa.
