Try reading "Them" by Jon Ronson - he investigated a lot of it.
It's all to do with Bilderberg.

I would think they do.
One of the founder members of Bilderberg was Douglas Hurd, and Thatcher, Major and a few other notable politicians have all been to Bilderberg meetings.
